Ginger Crinkles
My sister in law introduced me to these cookies. They are such a yummy holiday treat! This is a great recipe for a holiday cookie exchange or neighborhood treat deliveries, . You can also make them for no reason. I totally give you permission.
Recipe
Cream together:
- 2 sticks butter (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
add:
- 1 egg
- 1 teapsoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoon molassses
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- shape dough into balls (I use this scoop) and roll in a small bowl of sugar for a light sugar dusting.
Bake 350 degrees.
Check after 7 mins. Remove from oven as soon as the tops start to crack and the bottoms are a golden brown, The key with these is to under cook them slightly and allow the dough to continue to cook on the hot baking sheet. Cool for a minute or so. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack. Get ready to be asked for the recipe and share liberally!
